Can't add lists in changelog posts

If a list starts anywhere in the post other than the very first element, it's not rendered as a list. For example, a post like this will render as a list:
- List Item 1
- List Item 2
But a post like this will not render as a list:
Some text introduction.
- List Item
This post itself is actually an example of the syntax not working correctly.
